Manisha Oswal
- A brief about yourself and how you describe your own personality and persona.
I am Manisha Oswal—a wife, a mother to a son and a loving daughter-in-law. I am a passionate learner, and this passion gave me the opportunity to conquer the world through the prestigious platform of Mrs. India, Queen of Substance.Growing up in a conservative family, I did not have the chance to complete my formal education. Without formal education, pursuing my interests—such as driving, Kathak, singing, and swimming—seemed impossible. However, this challenge ignited in me a lifelong passion for learning.I got married at the early age of 19, but as they say, good things take time. The same happened with me. My determination to keep learning and growing led me to explore various fields, including yoga, driving, swimming, a teacher training course, singing, Kathak, self-grooming, and even a pageant course.I strongly believe in good karma, which inspires me to always be there for my loved ones, supporting them through both good and bad times.
- Your Achievements that makes you feel high.
Although I didn’t have the opportunity to complete my formal education, I believe I have earned an MBA from the “University of Home.” I am a passionate driver, and nothing makes me feel more exhilarated than a long-distance drive. In fact, I feel a natural high whenever I step out of my comfort zone. For example, driving from Goa to Pune, learning Kathak at 45, swimming at 35, enrolling in a pageant training course at 49, trekking, learning singing, and even taking solo trips—both nationally and internationally—all give me an incredible sense of accomplishment. Balancing these passions while being the backbone of my family makes me proud to call myself an all-rounder. And that feeling is truly unmatched!
- Define the true beauty.
True beauty is having a pure heart. True beauty is not just about having attractive features or a perfect figure; it comes from a kind heart and a knowledgeable mind. I also believe that true beauty is shaped by a person’s perception. It is a blend of qualities like kindness, confidence, patience, truthfulness, joy, and love—traits that make a person truly shine.
- What makes a complete, healthy and happy family for you?
A good and healthy family is built on a strong foundation of understanding, transparency, open communication, and mutual support. When every member feels like a pillar of strength for one another while also respecting personal space, it fosters harmony and lasting relationships.
- What is your favourite Idea of Holidaying?
My favorite idea of holidaying is to travel solo, explore new places, experience the local lifestyle, and engage with people to learn more about their culture. I love visiting historical sites, appreciating the rich heritage of each destination, and making new friends along the way.
- Why you are participating in Mrs India Queen of Substance?
I am participating in Mrs. India, Queen of Substance because it is a prestigious platform that celebrates the strength, grace, and substance of women. Having grown up in a conservative family where I couldn’t complete my formal education, I have always been a passionate learner, pushing myself beyond limits to embrace new experiences. This journey is not just about beauty; it’s about inspiring others by proving that age, responsibilities, and societal expectations should never limit a woman’s dreams. Through this platform, I want to represent the idea that a woman can be a devoted wife, mother, and daughter-in-law while also pursuing her passions fearlessly. It’s an opportunity for me to showcase my journey of resilience, learning, and self-growth while encouraging other women to step out of their comfort zones and chase their dreams. Mrs. India, Queen of Substance is not just a competition for me—it’s a statement that true beauty lies in courage, confidence, and continuous self-improvement.
- What bothers you most about what is happening in the country today?
It deeply disturbs me whenever I read about rape cases in newspapers. In the 21st century, where we constantly talk about and take action toward women’s empowerment and gender equality, coming across such news is truly heartbreaking. What shatters me the most is reading about victims—whether it’s a 6-month-old baby, a 4-year-old girl, or a 60-year-old woman—suffering such horrific crimes. And yet, there are still people who blame women’s clothing for these heinous acts. My question is: If it’s really about clothing, then why are infants and young children being raped? This is not about what women wear; it’s about the mindset of society. Instead of policing women’s attire, we need to focus on changing attitudes, ensuring strict laws, and creating a culture where respect and safety are fundamental rights for everyone.
- The Quote or saying that encourages you?
Keep learning, keep growing.
- What is true “Sportsmanship” for you?
For me, true sportsmanship means embracing every loss as a lesson and using it as motivation to work even harder. It’s about never giving up, continuously pushing my limits, and stepping out of my comfort zone to achieve my goals. This unwavering determination is what has brought me here today, standing before you as a Mrs. India finalist.
- If you were selected as a Charity Ambassador what Value addition would you like to make for our Society and how?
I would like to spread mental health awareness by sharing my own experience of dealing with menopausal mental health challenges. By opening up about my journey, I hope to encourage others to prioritize their mental well-being. I want to emphasize the importance of seeking help from mental health professionals, going for counseling, and engaging in activities that bring joy and fulfillment. Mental health is just as important as physical health, and no one should feel ashamed or hesitant to seek support.
