Jyothi Lekshmi
- A brief about yourself and how you describe your own personality and persona.
I am Jyothi Lekshmi, an IT Program Manager and a passionate advocate for women’s empowerment and community upliftment. I describe myself as a confident, compassionate, and determined individual who believes in the power of positive action. My persona is a blend of grace and strength, and I strive to inspire others to chase their dreams while staying grounded in values. I believe in leading by example and embodying the elegance and resilience that define a true queen.
- Your Achievements that make you feel high.
Starting my career as a project manager, I took over a complex project that had previously stalled. Despite facing imposter syndrome as a first-time manager, I led the team with empathy and collaboration, successfully delivering the project and meeting stakeholder expectations. This accomplishment earned me the award for the most impactful newcomer, proving that with dedication and teamwork, any challenge can be overcome. This year, I’m honored to be nominated for the CHLOE Award, recognizing my courage to innovate. Additionally, as an immigrant myself, I founded a community for immigrant women of color in Canada, offering hands-on training, certifications, and job market guidance. I feel privileged to receive these recognitions, as they are a testament that nothing is a barrier when you have determination, self-belief, and confidence. Empowering others with the skills for long-term success is my way of showing that every challenge can be transformed into an opportunity for growth.
- Define true beauty.
For me true beauty is something that radiates from within and is defined by one’s character, compassion, and confidence. It is not limited to physical appearance but shines through one’s actions, values, and the kindness they extend to others. A beautiful person is one who uplifts, inspires, and leaves a positive impact on everyone they encounter, reflecting grace and integrity in every step they take.
- What makes a complete, healthy and happy family for you?
I believe a complete, healthy, and happy family is something that is built on the foundation of love, trust, and open communication. It is a space where every member feels valued, supported, and encouraged to be their authentic self. Respect, understanding, and shared moments of joy create an environment where everyone can grow and flourish together. It is about nurturing each other’s strengths and overcoming challenges with unity and compassion.
- What is your favorite Idea of Holidaying?
My favorite idea of holidaying is exploring destinations rich in culture and history, where I can immerse myself in new experiences and learn about different ways of life. I also cherish spending time amidst nature—whether it’s a serene beach, a majestic mountain, or a lush forest—where I can rejuvenate, reconnect with myself, and return with a fresh perspective and renewed energy.
- Why are you participating in Mrs India Queen of Substance?
Participating in Mrs. India Queen of Substance provides me with an incredible platform to rise as a role model for others. I believe that this title comes with the power to influence and inspire, and I intend to utilize that opportunity to positively impact the thoughts and minds of people. By sharing my story and championing the causes I hold dear—women’s and youth empowerment, children’s education, and overall well-being—I aim to direct attention and resources towards these noble goals. This platform allows me to amplify my voice, mobilize support, and collaborate with organizations and communities, ultimately creating sustainable change. It’s not just about winning a crown; it’s about using it as a tool to uplift, inspire, and transform lives on a larger scale.
- What bothers you most about what is happening in the country today?
What concerns me most about our country today is the growing economic inequality and the persistent social challenges we face. Despite India’s economic growth, the widening wealth gap has left millions without access to essential needs like education, healthcare, and clean water. The rise in unemployment, particularly among young people, poses a serious risk to our future, as many talented and creative minds are left without opportunities. This not only diminishes their potential but also stifles the nation’s progress. To truly harness our country’s strengths, we must invest in education, skill development, and entrepreneurship programs that enable our youth to contribute meaningfully to society. A critical issue that also deeply troubles me is the alarming rate of violence against women and children. Despite being a nation that prides itself on reverence and respect for women, the grim reality is that many women and children face threats of violence and abuse daily. This is not only a violation of their rights but also a barrier to India’s growth as a truly inclusive and safe society. For a country striving for development and progress, it is crucial that we build a culture of respect, equality, and safety, ensuring every woman and child can thrive without fear. We need to implement stronger laws, launch awareness campaigns, and establish comprehensive support systems to protect and empower them. As someone who believes in equal opportunity and the upliftment of marginalized communities, it is disheartening to witness these issues persist despite India’s potential. To build a truly prosperous and inclusive India, we must come together as a nation, advocating for the rights and safety of women and children, while creating opportunities for our youth. By fostering a culture of dignity, respect, and empowerment, we can inspire real change and create a future where every citizen lives without fear and with hope for a better tomorrow.
- The Quote or saying that encourages you?
A quote that deeply inspires me is by Malala Yousafzai: “I raise up my voice—not so that I can shout, but so that those without a voice can be heard.” This quote resonates with me because it reflects the power of speaking up for those who are marginalized or overlooked, especially women and children. It encourages me to use my platform and voice to advocate for positive change, uplift others, and work towards a more just and inclusive society.
- What is true “Sportsmanship” for you?
True sportsmanship is about demonstrating respect, integrity, and perseverance, regardless of winning or losing. It’s about giving your best effort, encouraging others, and competing with dignity and fairness. Sportsmanship is a reflection of one’s character—showing grace in victory and humility in defeat, while always valuing the spirit of camaraderie and the love of the game.
- If you were selected as a Charity Ambassador what Value addition would you like to make for our Society and how?
If selected as a Charity Ambassador, I would focus on empowering women and children through education and skill development. I believe education is the foundation for a better future, and by providing access to knowledge and skills, we can uplift entire communities. I would collaborate with local organizations to set up training centers that not only educate but also provide vocational skills to help individuals become self-reliant. By doing so, I aim to create a sustainable model for growth and empowerment that has a lasting impact on society.
