I did my food and nutrition degree from SNDT University, Mumbai. After coming to England I did a course in Pharmacy and now currently working for a leading Pharmacy group in England. I describe myself as charismatic, trustworthy, reliable, charming, fun loving and hardworking, adventurous, affectionate, ambitious person. I get energized by challenges which make me go beyond my comfort zone to achieve the best of my ability. I hit the ground running and come up to a speed faster than anyone.

  • Your Achievements that makes you feel high.
  • Ans.As a young child I was rejected by my father and had to adapt into a new family with a stepfather and siblings. I was very low at this time but with God’s grace from there I have gone on to achieve a degree, a happy marriage and have become a mother to my beautiful 3 children who I love very much. The next thing was being brought up in India I got married and had to move to UK. Adapting to a new culture, lifestyle, weather and a new family was testing. I went onto do a diploma in pharmacy and presently work for a large pharmacy group in UK. I also started a small business in property and currently still continuing it. When I was younger prior to marriage I did some modelling and I was offered a film role with a famous film star.

  • Define the true beauty.
  • Ans.True beauty is not limited to the colour of hair or eyes you have but it is about what kind of human being you are which is reflected in you by your soul. Acknowledging one’s own imperfections, trying to improve one’s inner self and embracing divine virtues of truth, compassion and contentment will always radiate true beauty.

  • What makes a complete, healthy and happy family for you?
  • Ans.To create a happy and healthy family takes a lot of hard work, dedication, sacrifice and love. My aim has always been to instil good values in my children so that they become good, honest, trustworthy, and caring and God fearing human beings. I want to be there to give support, encourage individualism and for them to be highly educated and professionals. I want to support them to achieve their goals and dreams, make sure they are happy and being there as a friend in their times of need. I strongly believe the foundation of a happy and healthy family is based on the wife/mother. She bonds the family, she is a shoulder for support, she can sacrifice her own happiness, and she has the strength to withstand any pressures and worries and can keep the family together. She is the backbone of a successful family. These are my values I try to live up to. I could have achieved much more individually but since I got married I felt my responsibility was to create this healthy nurturing happy family and therefore dedicated my last 18 yrs to my family in the hope that I have done everything I could to make sure they all are happy, becoming good human beings. I have supported them and their achievements today gives me happiness. This in turn is my achievement. I always made sure that we eat our meals together as a family because a family that eats together stays together. I have always cooked fresh organic food rather than having processed ready to eat food making it healthier for my family.

  • What is your favorite Idea of Holidaying?
  • Ans.Holiday can be of any form as long as the family is together and the family can have quality time. Due to day to day stress in normal life it is essential to take time out and go for a holiday with your family. My idea of holiday is to relax, be happy and be together. We should have time to discuss, play, go out, and share our thoughts, ideas, concerns and the future with each other. Most of all is to create beautiful memories and become closer with each other. We as a family go for at least 3 holidays in a year. In this way we get a good bonding time as a family where we eat, smile, laugh, joke and dance together. This enables us to come closer to each other. It does not make a difference what type of the holiday it is, the most significant thing of having holiday is having it with your family and spending time with your loved ones. Holiday can be in sport or just playing around in a swimming pool.

  • Why you are participating in Mrs India Queen of Substance?
  • Ans.I am participating in Mrs India because I have the desire to represent and be part of a project that can go on to help others or even a society. I’m confident that I can be a great role model for the charity organisations Mrs. India represents. I feel my journey through life, my experiences and what I have achieved would help me to be a good role model. I am confident enough to add values if I become a charity ambassador. Twenty years back I applied for Miss India but before I could walk on the ramp I got married. I gave up my dreams because I thought it was more appropriate at that moment to fulfil the responsibility of a daughter. Then I went on to fulfil the responsibility of a daughter in law, then a wife and finally a mother. Now that I have done all the above to the best of my ability it’s time to fulfil and think about my own dreams.

  • What bothers you most about what is happening in the country today?
  • Ans.There is still Injustice done to women, after so much awareness. Women are still treated as second class citizens. They are often still considered as inferior to men and don’t have a strong voice in society. Many villages in India still consider girls as a burden and infanticide is still quite rife. I find abduction of children, forcing them into slavery, prostitution, begging and crime very distressing. Even though India is becoming a large economy and is being respected and looked upon by Western countries as the next major player in the global economy we have to take responsibility of how this development is impacting on global warming and pollution of our own country and world. We all need to take action and be responsible.

  • The Quote or saying that encourages you?
  • Ans.If you are honest, people may cheat you, be honest anyway. If you find happiness people may be jealous, be happy anyway. The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow, do good anyway. Give the world the best you have and it will never be enough, give your best anyway. For you see, in the end it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway” - Mother Teresa

  • What is true “Sportsmanship” for you?
  • Ans.Good sportsmanship includes many aspects of an individual’s character. The most significant and fundamental one is respect. A good sportsman will respect both the team mates and his opponents. The fundamentals of sportsmanship or being a good sports person are-having the talent, being competitive but fair and honest, integrity, hard working, determined, sacrifice, respectful and accepting of defeat and as well as being humble in success.

  • If you were selected as a Charity Ambassador what Value addition would you like to make for our Society and how?
  • Ans.I would like to help the poor and needy in our society and try and prevent injustice to girls and women in India. To change the attitudes to women in our society I will attempt to educate and create awareness among the present and next generation so that they can carry on the awareness to the following generations. I will be a role model and use this prestigious platform to create an example of what women can achieve and do in life. Women should be valued and feel confident. Together we can try and break these old traditions and barriers in society which causes women to be devalued. I would go into villages, train others to spread the message, create events in villages and empower women. I would also like to lift up the poor and needy in society on similar lines as above. With this platform I can work with other charities in conjunction to organise events, create projects to lift society out of poverty. I would try and go around the world to get more support for the under privileged. In short I will not leave any opportunity that will come my way to carry on helping the under privileged.
