- Your Achievements that make you feel High
Ans.Over a span of last few years, my life’s journey has been quite rewarding. Setting up my own apparel boutique at the young age of 19 and being a founder and chief trustee of my NGO “Elysium Smiles” my life gave me plenty of opportunities to prove my mettle. Bringing a smile on a Kid’s face through my NGO’s humble effortsgives me utmost satisfaction, I believe these small acts of kindness can bring a difference to this world making it a better place to live. Though there is a long way to go , but these few things give me an innate sense of fulfilment and achievement.
- Define True Beauty
Ans.Face is an Index of our mind &a mirror of oursoul. True beauty is basically intrinsic which comes from within. It is a mix of two elixirs- a warm heart and an intelligent mind. A compassionate heart reflects itself on face and a sharp and focused mind makes one glow with a halo. These attributes form the essence of true beauty.
- What makes a complete, healthy and happy family for you.
Ans.ईश्वरःममन्यायदाता कुटुंबकंजीवनंमम God is my Judge… Family is my life. For me a healthy and happy family is one where parents respect each other and set up an example for kids to respect not only their elders but also house help & drivers, who form their extended family. Here, every members’ thoughts and opinions are respected while giving them their personal space. Family vacations and celebrations create a platform for quality bonding time amongst family members. For me a complete, healthy and happy family is one which produces compassionate , graceful and kind individuals who make up a better society.
- What is your favorite idea of Holidaying.
Ans.Essence of holidaying is in the rejuvenation that comes with it. For me, it is a time to take a break from all the chaos of life so that we get back to life with renewed enthusiasm and energy. At times, we like relaxing holidays to the beach destinations, to explore shopping , spa and fun activities and at other times, we go on holidays which are enriching for kids, which connects them to architecture, history, bio diversity , culture and cuisine of various places. My travel essentials are my family.
- Why are you participating in Mrs. India Queen of Substance.
Ans.Mrs. India Queen of Substance is one of the most recognized Pageant for providing identity to vivacious married women in India. Being an ambitious woman, the thought of getting the title of “Queen” was encouraging enough for me to participate in this event . This event also provides international platform and exposure to final contestants which is one of its kind and can help contestants fulfill their ambitions of doing something significant in this field. I believe that I can bring direct or indirect value to this process wherein improved competition can be one of the advantage.
- What bothers you most about what is happening in country today.
Ans.Today with the influence of foreign culture, our youth is more exposed to the vices of modernization, most debilitating being substance abuse. It pains me when I hear that kids as young as middle school have fallen prey to this poison, as per a recent survey, more than 63% of reported drug abuse cases commence at a young age of less than 15.The condition is so grave that In Punjab one out of 3 adolescents/ teenager is exposed to this venom. It’s the need of the time that schools incorporate sensitization programs on drug abuse in their curriculum. Also,India needs a comprehensive drug abuse policy to fight this deadly disease which is taking away the innocence and golden years of our youth.
- The Quote or saying that encourages you.
Ans.Quotes are small doses of accumulated wisdom which speak to us when we are in appropriate frame of mind. Being positive and effervescent woman I really love this quote “ When Life throws lemons at you Grab some Tequila and Salt.” This quote instantly works as a catalyst to see problems as lemons and helps me maintain‘happy go lucky’ attitude in all situations.
- What is True Sportsmanship to you?
Ans.True Sportsmanship to me is being fiercely competitive at all times while accepting defeats with equal grace as the wins, and this forms the very ethos of any sports. For me it is an attitude to learn from everyone and having respect towards fellow companions for their skills and one-upmanship over mine. True Sportsmanship is like facing the bull with its horns no matter how rough the tide is. In Life, the spirit of true sportsmanship pushes me to my limits to eventually help me evolve as a better person.
- If you were selected as charity ambassador what value addition would you like to make for our society and how?
Ans.An Ambassador is a representative towards making the world a better place. If I were selected as a charity ambassador I will focus on curbing the number of female foeticide and female infanticide in our country. The rising ‘high birth sex ratio’ in India over last 20 years is a debilitating issue which points towards sex- selective abortion. As a charity ambassador I would create a support system for counselling of young couples, families and Medical personnel to save the girl child.
